Origin Nile Films consists of classically trained filmmakers, students turned working writer/directors, creative editors, animators and artisans in the field of media. After graduating film school, Jibril Haynes and Nicole D. Parker worked from PA to 2nd AD to Directors. Realizing they have to create their own media, the partners moved to Boston founding Origin Nile Films.
While in Boston Origin Nile Films shot its first film, ‘Get Yours’ winning Origin Nile Films the ‘Emerging Filmmakers Award’ at the Roxbury International Film Festival.
Since then Origin Nile has enjoyed a successful runs at national and international film festivals. Their films ‘The Plague’ (Best Actor) and ‘Humans in Traffic’ (Audience Award) won awards in the Pan African Film Festival in Cannes, France.
During their feature film work in Boston, we were hired to create cinematic training videos for Harvard University, Boston Medical Center, Boston Health Commission, The Boston Public School System with their award-winning scholastic film, ‘Jake’s Cyber Adventure’, a state-wide cyber buying film written and directed by Origin Nile Films.
Created the Award-winning film “ Black Political Participation and the Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer’, in which the Democratic National Convention commissioned the documentary to Origin Nile Films. Origin Nile Films has produced PSA’s for The March of Dimes, The National Association of Black Accountants and many more
‘Kwanzaa with the Jones,' written, produced and directed by Origin Nile Films, is the first and only feature narrative about the Kwanzaa holiday.
Moving Origin Nile’s offices back to Atlanta in 2010, we acquired a 3500 square foot film studio producing motion pictures, reality show pilots, music videos, and commercials. We are often hired to produce and edit film trailers and teasers for network pitch sessions. With a strong animation department, Origin Nile crosses fresh new school techniques with the foundations of strong stories and timely communication.
